Charles ..

Back from seeing Charles. He is doing OK. Still not sure why he is not putting out urine so they put in a Foley catheter. He is voiding now .. not as much as they would like, but more then before. They are waiting to do a CT scan of the kidneys .. can’t because his blood work is not good.

I talked with Charles pastor earlier this week and he said he would go visit Charles. Well, guess who as NOT gone to see him!?

I want to personally thank David and Wilton for going to visit Charles. You two, Alex, Jon and myself are the ONLY people that have visited him.  I understand that we all have lives to live .. but I am still disappointed.

I am passing out trying to write this ..  so I am off to bed.

Charles @ Kingwood Hospital

So yesterday was a real bi%$# of a day. I had to take Charles into the hospital because he was complaining that he couldn’t breath. Jon had the car so I manager to get him loaded into my truck. (Charles refused to let me call an ambulance.) Get him in and settled. Then I had to leave for the day as I had to get ready for a funeral, then I had duty last night.

Get back to the hospital this morning and finally get a nurse to talk to me .. the current diagnosis is CHF/Exasperated, hypokelmia, and fluid retention. Needless to say, Charles is stressed about the CHF. Hypokelmia is just low potassium, and that we kinda knew would be there and the fluid retention was obvious by the edema in his legs.

He is finally in a regular room in IMU (between general population and ICU). Apparently, the whole hospital is at capacity because there are a lot of patients in the ER in the hallways and everywhere else.

My business partner found out that he had a warrant the hard way. Failed to use his turn signals at10:oo pm so a sheriff pulled him over. Bad this is, he was test driving a customers car after repairs. Now the shop rent has been spent (not by me) and, now I have to find that money or find a place to move all my wood shop equipment to. And that is assuming the landlord doesn’t just ask us to vacate anyway.

It just seems that no matter how hard I try to get ahead.. something happens to keep me down.

Ciao for now,
Shalom,
JT

Rubber band is getting tight!

ok .. so I am laying in bed trying to get some rest and Charles comes in saying he can’t breath. I don’t have an O2 bottle in my truck so I check him out. BP was 168/100 so what do I do, I recommend that he go in to the ER. An hour later, we are in Kingwood ER and they don’t even wait .. triage and  a room all in less than 10 minutes.

Called a few minutes ago, and his potassium was low, he is retaining fluids, and they are admitting him to Kingwood Hospital at this time.

And if you have read my earlier post, you will know that today is the day that Monty takes his last ride on an apparatus, to which I am the driver and a pall bearer.

So with the funeral, Charles not doing well, and all kinds of other stress that I am not going to write about .. that little rubber band is getting tighter and tighter!

Shalom for now,
JT
